The title of this pic should be Stingray on the Roof:A Fear Conquered.
Me on the roof is like a fish out of water...literally.
I'm terrified of heights. My knees turn to jello and I can't move.....yeah I know, dumb thing to be scared of, right? It's not the height that hurts ya, it's the ground if you fall, and I've never fell from a distance, it's always when I'm already on the ground because I'm a huge clutz, so you'd think I wouldn't have a problem. Well, I do. And my Sister thinks it's hilarious. So does my Dad. My Mom however, understands.
So, the story behind this picture is that my family (mainly my Sister) decided to put up lights on the house and in the yard this year at Dad's. Dad was busy working in the barn on a project he was building, so Sissy calls, you guessed it, ME, to come help her and Mom. Sis went up in the barn loft, pulled down a bunch of lights, and tossed them down to me, then found one thing she couldn't lift. Well, I'm not sending my MOM up there, so I go up the old rickety wooden ladder to the loft, get halfway up and freeze, for good reason....my DAD decided it would be FUNNY to SHAKE the LADDER with ME on IT! I wanted to strangle him to say the least. Well, for the rest of the next hour, they teased the living daylights out of me for screaming like a banshee when he did that.
So, when my Sister climbed up on the roof of the house, looked over the edge and teased me about how I would never get up there....the stingray in me took over, and I climbed up the ladder, up the roof line, and stood on the edge and poked her. She about went crazy, and I nearly gave my poor mother a heart attack, but I proved I could do it and overcome something I hate and am afraid of. This picture came about as I was waiting on Sissy to get done and let me plug everything in on the far higher end. After this pic, I got down to go get the star and she wanted pictures of her up there for her myspace, so I took pics of her.. (link soon to come).
So, we got the lights done, and they looked great, and I proved to them all nothing is beyond me and you never know what I am going to do next.

I love sitting on my rooftop in the summer, staring up at the stars. I'm glad I'm not afraid of heights.
