A little something that I'm working on for a friend, who shares a love of Transformers as much as me (if not more than) and who's fanfics and art I enjoy.

I used to be a much better sketch/pencil artist....now I go more for paint and graphic/digital stuff and some photography. For some reason, I can paint something, but for the life of me I can't go back and draw it. Don't ask me why...I know it's weird. Used to, you could ask me to draw something, and I could take a pencil or pen even and give me ten minutes and there it was. Not anymore. So this one was a real struggle for me. But once it's in my head, I HAVE to get it out.

I can't count the number of reference photos I used of the smaller detailed things, (like using a picture of my own hand to get his salute right, which could be why his fingers are a little chubbier than they should be, I have fat fingers) and how many times I had to stop, get up, go to the living room with my sketchbook and re-play that scene on the dvd player because I hadn't set up my dvd rom on the computer yet. (I do have it set up now though.)

So five days later and there ya go. Yeah, five days....and I'm not done and not happy with it completely. I took breaks in between so I'd not screw up too bad, though, because if I burn yourself out on one thing, I start rushing and it gets all messy. I did Ravage kind of quick while sitting in the floor watching G1. He's nowhere near as good as Shockwave here, but I can't help but love the big kitty.

So, here is Shockwave's finished drawn edition, scanned and uploaded. I need to do some more cleanup and inking to him before I finish the rest of the scene I am doing. There is MUCH more of this one to come. This is just a cross section close up of this one part of a whole, which is a larger work in itself. So look for more!
