Goofy (Block wall painting #2) Complete!


For the past few weeks in my spare time, I have been working on a commissioned custom bedroom in a basement that has been remodeled into an apartment. The entire room was left to me to decorate completely custom and special, for a two year old little girl, whom has never had her very own room. This room was started from scratch, and I've been there for the entire event. Three walls are paneling wood, and one wall is concrete block. My sister and I sealed and painted all the walls with a white basecoat, then painted them a light blue. I asked the girl what her favorite things were, and I drew large wall sized cartoons of Goofy, Elmo, Tinkerbelle, Mickey Mouse, Dora the Explorer and Boots the monkey, and a custom drawing of a cartoon version of the little girl wearing a dress and cowgirl hat, riding on the back of a My Little Pony, on the walls using coloring books as references

This is a progress shot, showing how the painting was coming along as I work on this bedroom. Goofy (shown here) Mickey, and Elmo are now complete, Tinkerbelle is near complete, and I am working on the Girl and Pony, and Dora and Boots. Next to come is a tree that spreads across the wall and ceiling, and I am painting clouds and glow in the dark stars on the ceiling as well as a shining smiling sun that is part of the light fixture in her room, and her furniture is also custom painted to match where the characters are located on the wall and are painted as the grass and flowers they are standing on.
