Bots in Baltimore by southernstingray Bots in Baltimore by southernstingray
MOVIE GENERATION MEETS THE NEW GENERATION.

Me and the kiddo ventured north to hit the Baltimore ComicCon for a day on Sunday August 29th and hit the costume contest and the main floor for a few hours as Megara (Lady Megatron) and Prince Starscream. So many fantastic costumes! I wish I'd been able to carry my camera more! But this is one picture I was able to get, thankfully. Movie generation Bumblebee meets the new generation of G1, Prince Starscream.

This was the last time Prince Starscream was going to be going out for a while till some maintenance, upgrades and repairs can be done, mainly since Matt is outgrowing some parts of the suit, so we sent the Prince out with a BANG!

Congratulations to my son Matt, aka Prince Starscream for his first place WIN in the Baltimore ComicCon costume contest! First place male under 13!

Thank you! That Bee was really well made. He was nice even when I was asking a million questions about how he made it and poking his armor...lol!

:D I think he was just happy to have someone (actually, lots of people) appreciating his costume that much. :)

Can you believe it was all leftover recycled plastic bottles and bins and a pair of moonshoes that he painted up? That's what the guy told me. And one of his arm pieces was chipping paint and I saw it at the end of the day and sure enough, it looked like part of a laundry detergent bottle. I was shocked.

I know! I wish I could do that with plastic! My son would love it. The guy in Bumblebee also created the War Machine (from Iron Man 2) that was there. It looked fantastic too!

Yeah, I made the knees for him after BotCon to try to hide the fact he's outgrowing the legs (and arms too) for just a little while till we can get them remade, before AnimeUSA. Till then he'll be out in Frenzy and Wolverine for a while before the Prince returns. :)

But as for Bumblebee, I thought he looked awesome. The feet were made from moonshoes! And most of it was plastic stuff he cut up and made into the shapes he needed. I thought it looked great and the guy in it was really nice, letting me ask him questions and stuff. I got a picture of Bee by himself, told him I knew his biggest fan and it was for her. ;) I'll send it to ya on facebook.

AnimeUSA is in November, and in Arlington Virginia, which isn't too far away from us, and close to the DC area which was about where we were at Baltimore, so it won't be too rough a drive so we should be able to take Prince again and stay for the whole weekend if Matt is on winter break at school by then.

Yeah, I'm so building a pocket on the inside of my suit so I can carry the camera around (and maybe my cell phone too)

I need it! There are too many times I want my camera and I can't just carry it around on my wrist or it'd be in every photo other people took of us, so I need a "robot pocket"...lol!

Thanks so much! Here soon we are going to do a major overhaul to the costume and give him some time to play in Frenzy for a while, then we are going back to pirates for a bit with Lil'Jack making his comeback at AnimeUSA in November.

epic! Funny enough, every time I see him in costume, I think to myself that he's not really so Lil' of a Lil'Jack anymore. Your little baby is growing up.

I KNOW! Don't remind me! He's almost as tall as me now! But he's still not quite up there with the big Jacks yet, so it's not quite time to take the "lil" off Lil'Jack. I still have a little more time looking down at him before I'll be looking UP at him.
