Well, I couldn't put it off any longer. I had to go in to my doctor for what I thought was simple carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand, but had been aching more than usual and preventing me from my usual active, almost hyper active life. The more I put it off, the worse it got and then 3 weeks ago or more I really screwed up and kept going on a house we were painting, ignoring the pain in my arm and neck, and then wound up in the emergency room with a migraine headache, pain shooting through my arm and my fingers tingling. (((See my journal entry LATELY to catch up))) After much argument form all those who care about me, I finally gave in, and saw my doctor today, because I was getting tired of the headaches, shoulder and hand pain stopping me from things I really wanted to do, like painting my house and sewing my new costumes for my New Orleans trip to PyrateCon. It's worse than I expected...a severe case of carpal tunnel accompainied by either 'carpal elbow' which means a pinched or severed nerve in my elbow that runs to my fingertips, or I've got an injured nerve or disk in my neck that is connecting pain to my arm. Either way, it is the cause of my carpal tunnel-like problems and pain in my arm, wrist and shoulder, and not to mention the sudden awful migraines. I have to have several tests run, including one called an EMG, which involves sending electronic signals through my muscles in my arm and hand and using needles to trigger where the pain is being sent from. I HATE needles as anyone who knows me already is aware of, but at this point in time, I'll endure a few needles as it already feels like my arm is being poked by a thousand of them at night while I'm trying to sleep, and since it will lead to getting this fixed.

Either way the test comes out, the only cure for all three of my possible injuries is surgery to correct it. Fun Fun Fun...huh?

So, that's my update on my condition...keep me in mind as I go through the testing and pray it isn't the worst of the problems and that it isn't my neck. I can handle it being my arm, elbow and wrist, but I'll freak out if it's my neck and they say I can't travel.
